Kwik Step's Power Class
Kwik Step's class was a fresh look on power. He went over the backspin first which was difficult for me because I have a hard time staying way up on my back...but if CANDY wouldn't have been laughing at me the entire time (about our inside cabin joke) then maybe I would have gotten it better...LOL what a brat!

We went over floor trax, and practiced them some. It was good though because we went one on one which allowed us to see individually what we were doing wrong in our power. I wished that we would have had a little more time with it, I really wanted him to go over taps with my headspins but I definitley learned a lot and understand the better way to practice these things.

Kwik Step is a really funny dude, very knowledgeable. I hope that I get to train with him again soon. Thank you so much for everything Kwik! But most of all thank you so much for hitting all of us with that intertube noodle in the pool when we ran down the cinnabons...that thing hurt so bad! I think I still have a bruise on my shin. :) hee hee

my experience ya'll
In all honesty no matter how I share my experiences, tell you how amazing Beat Riders is, or how awesome and talented everyone is, you still won't even be able comprehend it to its fullest.... but no i mean really.
This is a turning point in my life coming here. My vision, body, dance and knowledge have been pushed further and harder in one week then ever in my life...and those who know me know how much I've been pushed. Its a spiritual awakening coming here and going through this not only the twenty-nine other riders but with the staff and instructors as well.
To those who have sent in tapes and haven't gotten the chance to share this experience, its so beyond worth it to keep sending your tape for each year they continue to have this. As an urban dancer I feel so blessed and thankful to be here and learn everything thats been handed down to me to now go forth and correctly pass along to continue on our lifestyle in the way it should be appreciated, understood and danced.
I look back six days ago and remember how excited i was to get here, but i knew that in a second it was going to be over. Here I am with only two days left, beautifully overwhelmed, loving it. Exhausted more than i've ever known and still going strong learning, growing, laughing laughing laughing, loving and getting sad to leave all these people. But so excited to go home share, practice grow further myself, and move forward with my life. Hey can I have Candy's job next year?! lol I'm serious.
but really thank you to all who is apart of RBBR07 for helping me to find in myself, in dancing and in life what i was missing and in search of to move forward on this path I'm destined to take. Big things ya'll Watch Out!

Alright,
Where to start??? This has been an amazing inspirational experience.. Grems set the master classes up this year as a journey back in time.. set to start in the 60's where most of our parents were on their first date and end in 80's where we were/had popped out of our mommy's belly... things got a bit off track due to like 15 peeps with sprained ankles or toes or wrists, sore abs from the buff Hungarian gymnasts teaching us flare strengthening exercises and bad backs from who knows what... BUT anyways....starting with locking and some boogaloo with Sugar Pop, bboying with Crazy Legs and Fever, Rocking with Nako and Ken Swift, more Sugar Pop boogaloo, strutting and stepping with Fayzo, old party dances/krumping/and choreo with Brother, and to end our master classes Quick Step with power and Brian Green with house...... oh..and Asia has been leading yoga every morning..yessssss

I wish I could have written earlier because they are so many little details and moments that have made this camp the freshest... THE BEST of all week so far has been last night! We had a hard cypher for 3 hours straight... everyone's character came out and blew me away... some of us here have been shy, quiet, standoffish...some the center of attention, loud, crackkin jokes... but dancing brings out the most of everyone here... Bumble Bee...chill Korean bboy from Maryland..busted out at all the perfect moments always giving the double peace notion with his fingers and a huge smile..double jointed craziness..body all sideways backwards upsidedown... Tiffany doing her thing wacking, vogueing, and locking it up always so fierce... Kid David being an 18 year old all week..starting cabin wars... was wreckin the cypher...I mean there are so many folks who sparked the fire in me to not stop all night and its so empowering to be with 30 selected dancers all whom kill it with their individual styles....THE GYMNASTS..DUDE, all the sudden during mid heated cypher..a group of like 15 8-12 year old gymnasts in their leotards and bare feet come rolling thru and start flipping in the cypher..paying close attention to what the breakers were doing and trying to top them! Then they started picking up on our tops and floor moves and mimicing them on the side...all this turning into a mini dance class led by IQ and Candy.....merrrrrrrr, so freakin cute..

YOGA TIME, gotsta go...more lates
Peace
